So it’s possible you follow my @shelleykeith Twitter account and really love me, but think I might be a little more noise than signal…and possibly a little mouthy…and maybe more obscene than you’d prefer. I know. I accept it.
I’m opinionated and vocal. For that reason I made my Twitter account private several months ago. I’ve spent quite some time trying to figure out how to reconcile my juvenile need for honest self-expression (NOBODY UNDERSTANDS ME!) with my desire for a professional Twitter stream that I could feed into blogs, LinkedIn, etc. I’d considered a separate account for my obscenity laced ramblings. I’d considered opening my stream back up and watching my mouth…stifling the urge to be bluntly honest and generally stupid. I decided neither of these really worked for me.
Instead, I’ve chosen to create @sk140. A less noise, more professional, reduced obscenity account that will be public, cleaner, and more signal oriented. I invite anyone who would prefer to keep following me, but wishes I would shut the hell up sometimes, to shuffle on over. My goal with @sk140 will be to have a stream that’s actually useful in RSS form, is less likely to get me fired, and to distribute useful favorites through various aggregators.
There will be cross-posting. I will RT myself and others from one or both accounts. @sk140 will be less funny, more money.
Wow that was cheesy. Someone should kick my ass for that.
